Looking for affordable childcare in Lufkin? Each teacher on staff at the Buckner Mary Jo Gorden Child Development Center loves working with children. It is their life's passion to invest into the education and development of your child. In addition to state-required background checks on our staff, Buckner provides an additional layer of background reviews to ensure the safety of your children.
Academics and Child Development
At the Buckner Mary Jo Gorden Child Development Center in Lufkin, we follow the Frog Street curriculum and DIG for our pre-K program. Our teachers are required to complete ongoing training to stay up to date on the latest concepts and techniques in the childcare industry. For your convenience, all staff training occurs on the weekends to avoid Center closure during the week when working parents and Angelina College students need childcare the most.
After-School Care and Summer Camp
Need after-school child care for your child? We provide after-school care for children up to 12 years old. At the Child Development Center, our after-school teachers help your child complete their homework and help focus on areas that may require more attention, like reading or math. Then, we believe it's important for kids to be kids and to get the wiggles out so when you pick up, it's time to enjoy each other as a family.
During the summers, we offer fun and educational programs for school-age children from 5 to 12 years old. Field trips, water activities, and more can help develop your child's social skills and ongoing learning opportunities when school is out of session.
